Try home rememdies, since they will give you the least amount of damage to your skin. And don’t go from a .2% benzoyl peroxide acne treatment to a 10% one. The extreme change will just cause a HUGE breakout.(ie, clean and clear acne 3-step system.)
Pete, please dont do anything drastic!!.Having acne/pimples all over the face doesnt mean its the end of the world for you tho!.Let me tell you this, i’m an adult & way passed teen years yet started to suffer with constant unpredicted breakouts both from pimples & acne, the worst– they even erupted on my back!!.i’ve never ever experienced random breakouts even when i was in teens not until till 2 years ago. I’ve undergone skin peeling 4 times at 30 days interval & acnes were at bay for about 3 months but came back with full revenge!.Doctor prescribed some topical medication and oral doxycycline pills to be taken once a day for a month!(my poor liver!) & have used Brevoxyl as facial wash. Well the pimple breakouts were less hence considered as very slight improvement tho but the acne breakouts were so painful and they would come out like big bee sting hard bumps on my face!!.and they cant be extracted because they dont have “eyes”.I’ve tried a full set of Obagi Nu-Skin, which is really pricey, but it just help my skin to peel off for 3 months but didnt help to get rid of acnes. My mom has told me to stop being so ambitious by trying all these “modern” skin care methodology, she said go back to “mother nature”!!.she then asked me to use this small little green lime (this is famous in Asia & it’s called Calamansi/Kalamandi),very very sour!!.i’ll cut 1 small lime into half, remove the seeds and rub one half all over my face and neck untill all its juice were on my skin. Let it dry for 2 minutes then use the other half again to rub gently all over my face and neck, leave it dry for 15 minutes. This hurts a lot, a little itchy too. You can really feel the acid digging underneath your skin. This little lime has the most powerful Vitamin C than any other lime or lemon. You can try to google it. And this I do every morning as my facial mask. In the evening I’ll do the same but after 15 minutes, i’ll pour a tablespoon of Castor Oil on my palms, and massage it all over my face and neck for 10 minutes. Massage in a circular motion & focus more where the pimples and acnes are. Then i’ll wash my face with warm water. My skin would tend to be a little dry & tight tho for a few minutes after facial wash but you’ll see slight difference each day, pimples and acnes dries up faster, white heads & black heads comes off easily by themselves especially when you wash your face with warm water, pores are getting smaller, lessens acne scar, skin tone changes and skin looks brighter. And in the morning upon waking up, i’ll squeeze 15 pieces of those green little lime in a cup (no water!) and add a teaspoon of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and drink the juice before I go to the gym. After gym, that’s just when i’ll eat oats and fruits for brekky. In the evening i’ll do the same but after dinner and before going to bed. Ive been doing this routine for 2 months now and i’m very happy with the results. Since its just 2 months, so i’m still fighting to reduce acne scars, little green lime helps me a lot on this.

After I quit the treatments, my self-esteem took a total nose-dive. I was always fixated on people looking at my skin. When my flare-ups happened, I made sure to stay inside to avoid being seen. I stopped bothering with makeup because it wasn’t hiding it anyway. I was so envious of women with amazing skin. I would laugh at them for freaking out about one or two pimples and at the same time wish I were like them.
Papules and pustules (the technical name for pimples) which cause small or medium sized bumps on the skin that are round, red and don’t always have a visible “head”. These are caused by “moderate” types of acne and are not as severe as cysts or nodules. (5)

When you use a product for acne, be sure to follow the directions exactly. Don’t use more than you’re supposed to because this can make your skin very red and very dry. It’s also good to try just a little bit at first to be sure that you’re not allergic to the product. Don’t give up if you don’t see results the next day. Acne medicine can take weeks or months to work.
It turns out that if you suffer from the severe inflammatory breakouts known as cystic acne, most products you’ll find over the counter aren’t going help your skin — no matter what the label claims. That’s because the cysts form deep in your skin. “If you attempt to use a traditional spot-drying treatment, this won’t do anything other than dry out the surface of the skin, which is not where the infection is,” explains Renée Rouleau, a celebrity esthetician and founder of Renée Rouleau Skincare.
