I’ve tried many products and remedies but most of them just worked for a while. But, I would highly recommend toothpaste to dry up the acne! It really works but only temporary! And I also recommend teatree oil! It can be quite costly but it works for me! 🙂
Im 15 and i have oily skin and my parents both have oily skin. i have tried countless things no really i cant even remember all of them. none of them work. So i began to think-_- how could i make the perfect remedy. I decided to drink alot of water for 2 weeks and see what happens. the reason is that the people at my school with no acne not even a pimlpe bring water every day. it seems as if they are getting rid of toxins and acne causing hormones by drinking water. so by the end of two weeks my skin was clear. i just couldnt belive it. it was really that simple! i also removed dead skin cells off my face by using a medium facial scrub twice a week. those also cause cloged pores. so when you go to school look around. this remedy is good and plus water wont do you any harm. i mean we are 70% water.
Some people take internally in an effort to treat acne systemically. You shouldn’t do this unless you’re under the supervision of a trained practitioner. Many herbs are fine to use on the skin but are toxic when consumed, especially in large amounts.
7. Garlic– Not only is garlic a great natural antibacterial when ingested, it also works great topically. To use it, take a clove of garlic and thinly slice it. Rub the slices on your skin, particularly any problem areas, making sure the juice of the garlic is applied. Leave on for 15 minutes to 30 minutes.

Tea tree (melaleuca alternifolia) is an herb used to treat skin problems and wounds. It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory abilities that may reduce the number of acne lesions. In a 1990 study, a topical gel containing 5 percent tea tree oil was compared to a topical cream containing 5 percent benzoyl peroxide. Both preparations reduced the number of inflamed and noninflamed acne lesions. Though the tea tree oil took longer to work, it resulted in fewer side effects. These included dryness, itching, irritation, and redness.
Cosmetics. Cosmetics don’t necessarily worsen acne, especially if you use oil-free makeup that doesn’t clog pores (noncomedogenics) and remove makeup regularly. Nonoily cosmetics don’t interfere with the effectiveness of acne drugs.

Spironolactone (Aldactone) is another possible prescription treatment measure for cystic acne. Traditionally, it’s used as a diuretic to help treat edema and high blood pressure. Ladies.. or guys who use makeup… Clean your makeup brushes!!! I used to get acne on my chin/cheeks and had suggested by my derm to make sure I clean brushes once a week. I take all my brushes and wash them with a basic soap or cleaner. It is amazing all the dirt, oil and makeup that washes right away in the sink. To think I was putting that back in my skin everyday. I also after cleaning, lightly brush the top of the brushes over rubbing alchohol. This makes sure any bacteria, or germs in there gets killed if the wash didn’t get them. After the first week of doing this, I had improvment right away. Def suggest to all those who use blush and concealer brushes!
Isotretinoin: this is a powerful medication that can benefit people for up to 2 years after treatment. It does, however, have the potential to cause side effects – it can harm unborn babies, meaning it is not suitable for women who plan to get pregnant. Before prescribing isotretinoin, doctors may order blood tests and continue to monitor people while they use it.

Lucky-Business/ShutterstockTopical creams, gels, and lotions (like dapsone and clindamycin) help to kill acne-causing bacteria, thereby reducing inflammation, redness and preventing breakouts before they start. Dr. Weinstein advises that it works best when used regularly—as part of a daily routine—and not as a spot treatment. (Check out the morning habits of people with great skin.) “The goal is to prevent and not play catch up when it comes to acne. With consistent use, the frequency of breakouts should be lesssened and current acne should resolve more quickly.” And like oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics are typically covered by insurance.
