I have had mild acne as a teenager and then in my early 20’s I got the scarring acne. I’ve realized it’s more than just a skin condition. After doing a whole body cleanse for a month with one of the herbal cleansing systems they sell at my local natural store, the acne completely went away. Now I just keep it up with periodic cleansing and I take a probiotic daily and it is gone. No more scars!
Blackheads and whiteheads (comedones). Comedones are enlarged hair follicles filled with sebum. Blackheads are comedones that have pushed through the skin’s surface. Exposure to air causes the sebum to turn black. Whiteheads are comedones that have not pushed through the skin’s surface.
Tea tree oil, a fragrant essential oil derived from the tea tree, is an effective acne treatment, and one that’s been backed up in the lab, too. But while it’s good at killing acne-causing bacteria, it can also irritate the skin, says Polisky. The bottom line: This is one natural remedy you can’t DIY, since the pure ingredient is too strong to swab on alone. Instead, find it in a soothing treatment like Dermalogica’s Breakout Control ($46, dermalogica.com), which pairs the ingredient with zinc sulfate to reduce redness and minimize irritation.
One of the surest and best tools to fight cystic acne is to address the gut-skin connection with the use of probiotics through food, supplements and even skin care. Way back in 1961, a case report found that out of 300 acne patients given a probiotic, 80 percent had clinical improvement. (2) The idea of probiotics for skin health isn’t new, but I’m happy to say it’s getting more attention in recent years. So before you resort to picking at your skin or using dangerous topical or oral remedies, read on to learn how you can naturally treat your cystic acne and have clear skin once again.
Improve your water consumption. Constipation can be a hurdle when suffering from back acne. Drink 12 to 16 glasses of water to get rid of back acne. Exfoliate your body from the inside. Your body consists of two-thirds of water. This water is used to build up new and healthy cells and blood. Lots of water helps eliminate toxins from your body. Less consumption of water may trap the toxins inside. These toxins may infect the body. They may find another way out in the form of acne.
Great tips here. Aloe vera is another excellent solution. Not only does aloe vera benefit the body when taken internally it has positive benefits for the skin. This miracle plant may benefit common ailments like acne.

The breakouts could have happened because you didn’t moisturize enough after using the baking soda. It’s pretty drying plus exfoliating which = drying, so your skin produces more oil to combat the dryness thus causing more breakouts. When I use baking soda, I make sure to use my regular moisturizer and then coconut oil over it. 🙂

Yes, topical treatments will definitely help, but if you want to cure your cystic acne for good you will need to repair the internal damage that’s causing the problem in the first place. And here’s some of the best ways to achieve this…

Also epiduo 2.5% benzonyl peroxide cream i have been using at night but only apply a little as it can cause irritation. Also i have used tomato juice which helps clear scarring. good luck!!

Use rubbing alcohol on breakouts for oily skin. I have very oily skin and when I break out (usually around that time of the month) I use rubbing alcohol on folded toilet paper to cleanse my face morning and night and the pimples are reduced or gone in a couple of days.
For 6 –12 months after an acne breakout, stay out of the sun as much as possible to avoid making dark spots and scars worse. When you are in the sun, use an all-natural sunscreen to protect skin. If scars do develop, dot a drop of rosehip seed oil or carrot seed oil on the scars twice per day until you notice a difference in the scar.
