i’ve had acne since i was 11 now im 13 and its really bringing my ego down. its only on my chin and on the edges of my hair line on the sides of my face. but the chin acne has gotton a lot worst and i’ve tried honey, baking soda, toothpaste and that didnt work and ive tried doctors perscription and even acne free cosmetic stuff. i need help. i cant figure out which one will help me the best. >-(

Acne is simply caused by excess oil clogging your pores and trapping dirt and bacteria, which causes inflammation, or acne. Preventing the oil from clogging your pores is the first step in treating your acne. However, even if you have the best pore-cleansing routine possible, you’ll probably still experience a breakout every once in a while. And if you do, there are steps you can take to clear things up and get your confidence back pronto.
The best way to fix them: You have a few options with these. The first would be to visit an aesthetician or a dermatologist for a deep-cleaning in a sterile environment. The second? Use an exfoliator. That could be a face scrub, retinol—which boosts skin cell turnover—or even facial cleansing brushes. If you go this route, just pick one. “You just don’t want to combine all them, since that’ll make skin sensitive,” adds Dr. Hale.
Acne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a long-term skin disease that occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. It is characterized by blackheads or whiteheads, pimples, oily skin, and possible scarring. It primarily affects areas of the skin with a relatively high number of oil glands, including the face, upper part of the chest, and back. The resulting appearance can lead to anxiety, reduced self-esteem and, in extreme cases, depression or thoughts of suicide.
The approach to acne treatment underwent significant during the twentieth century. Retinoids were introduced as a medical treatment for acne in 1943. Benzoyl peroxide was first proposed as a treatment in 1958 and has been routinely used for this purpose since the 1960s. Acne treatment was modified in the 1950s with the introduction of oral tetracycline antibiotics (such as minocycline). These reinforced the idea amongst dermatologists that bacterial growth on the skin plays an important role in causing acne. Subsequently, in the 1970s tretinoin (original trade name Retin A) was found to be an effective treatment. The development of oral isotretinoin (sold as Accutane and Roaccutane) followed in 1980. After its introduction in the United States it was recognized as a medication highly likely to cause birth defects if taken during pregnancy. In the United States, more than 2,000 women became pregnant while taking isotretinoin between 1982 and 2003, with most pregnancies ending in abortion or miscarriage. About 160 babies were born with birth defects.

I too struggled for many years with acne and it took me quite some time to feel comfortable looking at myself in the mirror for any extended amount of time. Totally agree with the self-love…especially since society always seems to be telling us to change or “improve” our bodies or appearances in ridiculous ways that just make people feel uncomfortable and insecure (nobody is going to have perfect skin, ever!) According to WebMD, a 2007 study in teenage boys and young men with acne found that eating foods with a low glycemic load (glycemic load tells you how much the food will raise blood sugar) led to significant improvement in their acne! Here is a good chart on the glycemic index of foods. An example of a high glycemic food is white rice “89” on the chart and an example of a low glycemic food is an apple “39”. Some of the best low-carb fruits include, berries, cherries, apples, pears and grapefruits. This is why one important change you can make is to make sure you keep your blood sugar steady. If your blood sugar is going wildly up and down you cause your insulin production to go in to overdrive . If you keep blood sugar balanced less “pimple producing insulin” will be in your blood and it was found in recent studies that there were less sex hormones in the blood of participants that ate foods with a low-glycemic load.
have been struggling with Cystic Acne for a couple of years now-and nothing has been working. It has been horrible. A few weeks ago I had three start to form on my chin – I felt the painful tenderness that precludes cystic acne. At the same time I was starting to catch a cold, so began to take my regular “shot” routine of organic Apple Cider Vinegar to ward off the bug. I noticed about an hour or so later that the pain in my chin had subsided, so decided to google for any link with ACV and cystic acne and found this site.
Just go to your MD and have them prescribe you ACNE medication And a topical cream. Ask for minocycline and the topical cream to be Clindamycin they do wonders. Avoid over the counter acne treatments all they do is irritate your face and dry it out! hope this works 😀

Spironolactone (Aldactone): This drug blocks androgen (hormone) receptors. It can cause breast tenderness, menstrual irregularities, and increased potassium levels in the bloodstream. It can help some women with resistant acne, however, and is generally well-tolerated in the young women who need it.
Take a look at any of OTC acne-fighters and you’ll probably spot salicylic acid on the ingredient list. Willow bark is its natural, botanical source. Use tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is often used topically for conditions like acne, wounds, infections and skin lesions. To treat your acne, use a tea tree oil that’s at a dilution of 5–15 percent. Apply 2-3 drops to a cotton ball and dab it over your acne.
I take 50mg of zinc + fish oil 2x per day, drink lots of water, work up a sweat daily and my face feels awesome. I had a cyst in my earlobe disappear overnight!! YAY!! my raised scars are smoother andthe oils have pulled a lot of grainy oil plugs from my pores…. I have huge hopes for my new routine & wish everyone the best finding what works for them cheers
I dip a cotton pad into the apple cider vinegar and then wipe it on my face. You may need to dilute the apple cider vinegar. I started out with a mixture of 50% water and 50% ACV, it can be quite strong. I sometimes leave it on for an hour or leave it on overnight.
