In the meantime, get a medium head of cabbage, a garlic clove, & some good salt (Kosher, etc.). Shred the cabbage & garlic (you can use a food processor), pound it down approx. 10 mins until the juices are over the top of it… put it all in a glass jar & pack it down until you can see the juice at the top of the cabbage. Let it sit for 3 days & then put it in your fridge. Eat 2-3 T of that each day… you can even work up to 2 T w/each meal. If you are afraid of garlic breath, then leave out the garlic :). I’ve had bad acne since elementry school and nothing ever worked. I’m 17 and last year i went on accutane which cleared up EVERYTHING-scars and all. the only downside was the side effects-i only got dry lips and my eye sight got a little worse but it is risky. after a year or so the acne started coming back-def. a lot better than it was before accutane but it still bugs me that i have acne again. i’m going to get glycolic acid peels for scars and then see what happens. if nothing works i’ll probably go on accutane again-to me its worth it.

Extra virgin coconut oil can be used topically and internally for acne cysts. While applying oil to a pimple may sound counterproductive, this remedy does work well in some cases. Coconut oil can also be used internally. It has antibacterial properties and can heal from the inside out. A typical dose is from 1-3 tablespoons daily. It can be taken plain or added to food.
Wash your face twice daily with a benzoyl peroxide cleanser. Benzoyl peroxide is one of the most effective acne treatments. It is found in many face washes. Wash your face when you wake up in the morning and before going to bed at night.
Toothpaste can help dry out a pimple, but it’s not a real solution for acne and can damage your skin. Stick to products made specifically for acne. Alternatively, there are some natural solutions you could try. For example, many people have great success clearing up acne by washing the affected area with honey (particularly manuka honey) daily or using it as a mask. You can also use it as a spot treatment.
Rinse your face with water and pat dry. Separate the whites from the yolks. You can use as many as you like, but normally 2 to 3 is enough. “Acne is caused by increased oil production, bacteria, pore blockage, and irregular skin cell turnover,” board-certified dermatologist Eric Meinhardt, M.D., tells SELF, and that goes for your face and your back. Sebaceous glands in the skin produce oil, which can collect along with dead skin cells in the pores, plugging them up and giving bacteria a perfect breeding ground, all of which can lead to redness, whiteheads, blackheads, and sometimes infection. Hormones can play a large role, which is why you might break out more around your period, for instance. And if you’ve noticed that your breakouts pop up in similar places as other family members, that could be acne’s genetic components at Meinhardt says.
If you wear a backpack, the pressure it places on your back could be doing your skin a disservice.
