Hi I have had acne as a teen and then it worsened in college. I tried proactiv, it worked for a while but at campus we had hard water, so I broke out again. if you have hard water it will break your face out no matter what you wash with. THe only thing that has worked 100% for me are these homeopathic tablets called Nature’s cure. They don’t carry them in many stores but u can find their website. they have different ones for males and females which is great becuase my acne use to get reallybad right before that time of the month. even proactiv couldn’t stop that. but with the tablets I never saw a bump. the key is to keep using them. they only cost $10 for a 1 month supply. I hope this helps. Right now I use a regular antibacterial soap, not an acne product. and I use witch hazel as a toner. Good luck!
Turmeric contains curcumin which is responsible for anti-inflammatory property. It also contains antiseptic, antitumor and astringent properties. When turmeric is applied on cystic acne, it first dehydrates them, drains out the pus and reduces the inflammation and pain.
All the dermatologists we talked to agreed that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to acne. Every patient responds to treatments differently, and sometimes it can get worse before it gets better. But with the help of your dermatologist, you can find an acne treatment regimen that works for you. And, yes, we do stress how helpful it is to work with a derm to get it right.
Cystic acne can take a toll on your personality and confidence. Do not allow it to put you down. We understand that it is a difficult problem to deal with, but you must not give up. Try the remedies mentioned above and let us know in the comments section below if they have worked for you.
Few high-quality studies have been performed which demonstrate that stress causes or worsens acne. While the connection between acne and stress has been debated, some research indicates that increased severity is associated with high stress levels in certain contexts such as hormonal changes seen in premenstrual syndrome.
I im turning 13 in october and I have had acne sence grade 6 and it drives me crazy cuz I have tryed things from wal-mart, avon, shoppers drug mart, and even my doctors and i have sence a little bit of a difference I also have acne marks and they dont want to go away either. So I REALLY want them gone cuz it makes me feel like nobody will ever like me again cuz of acne! 🙁 HELP ME PLEASE AND THANK-YOU!!!
So, now I’m trying to get pregnant so I can’t take either of the above things. I recently tried some natural remedies that work well. At Lush (a store that sells handmade soaps and stuff) I bought their Herbalism scrub and their soap for problem skin. It has chamomile, lavender, and calamine in it and works so well. Also, their is a cleanse pill called Clenzol that is full of different herbs. They work well.
Use rubbing alcohol on breakouts for oily skin. I have very oily skin and when I break out (usually around that time of the month) I use rubbing alcohol on folded toilet paper to cleanse my face morning and night and the pimples are reduced or gone in a couple of days.

Boxcar scars are characterized by an angular shape and exhibit sharp, vertical edges. Normally found on the temple or cheek, they can develop in a variety of depths. These scars may resemble those left after a bout with chicken pox.
There are numerous treatments and ointments available designed to heal acne scars, including laser and light therapies, subcision, dermal injections, chemical peels, and punch grafts. The invasiveness and cost of these treatment plans can vary greatly.
In terms of curing acne, a holistic protocol will incorporate an entire spectrum of methods and modalities which include several different categories. All of these modalities work synergistically to prevent and cure acne without chemical intervention. And the best part is that they are, for the most part, initiated and controlled by you. When using a holistic acne treatment, you are taking a pro-active approach to your own healing that will eventually result in beautiful clear skin. So, the next time a pimple even ‘thinks’ about breaking out on your skin, try nipping it in the bud with the proven, natural solutions listed below.
Sugar, white or brown, helps get rid of the excess skin cells clogging up your pores by acting as gentle exfoliator. Mix it up with honey, olive oil, or just plain water, and you have a sweet scrub to help rid you of your acne woes. There are plenty of different recipes out there, but we found this one to be particularly delightful (courtesy of cjanecreate.com-thank you for sharing this!)
For people with just a few spots, over-the-counter medications will often deal with the problem. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a product that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
Isotretinoin is a powerful drug that’s used to treat the most severe cases of acne. Your doctor may recommend this drug if you have severe acne that doesn’t get better with other medications, including antibiotics.
I am 24, have had pimples and acne since I was 12….I recommend rose hip oil (organic and pure) for the scarring, it works wonders, it won’t clear it up 100% but it will keep skn looking younger..stay away from brands that are full of chemicals…i make up my own tea tree mix…tea tree oil diluted..and I wash with tea tree soap before hand….i go to an acupuncturist…acne can have a lot to do with diet..i find cheese, beef , shell fish and anything acidic gives me pimples..but every body is different. Try the rose hip..you can substitute it for a moisturiser. for those feeling slef conscious….people arent always looking at your skin like you think, 90% of it is in your head….this coming from an extremely self conscious girl
🙂 these all work really well but the hot water and cotton balls work the best. you dont have to specific alcohol cotton balls you can just get regular cotton balls and put alcohol on them. using the alcohol will dry your skin out but if u but small dots of lotion on the dry patches and softly rub it in. hope these work for you
The earliest pathologic change is the formation of a plug (a microcomedone), which is driven primarily by excessive growth, reproduction, and accumulation of skin cells in the hair follicle. In normal skin, the skin cells that have died come up to the surface and exit the pore of the hair follicle. However, increased production of oily sebum in those with acne causes the dead skin cells to stick together. The accumulation of dead skin cell debris and oily sebum blocks the pore of the follicle, thus forming the microcomedone. This is further exacerbated by the biofilm created by P. acnes within the hair follicle. If the microcomedone is superficial within the hair follicle, the skin pigment melanin is exposed to air, resulting in its oxidation and dark appearance (known as a blackhead or open comedo). In contrast, if the microcomedone occurs deep within the hair follicle, this causes the formation of a whitehead (known as a closed comedo).

when i was 11, i started getting pimples on my 4head. i did a little “research” and found that the most popular was toothpaste and teatree oil. i would try them each seprate, but evry1s skin is different. if neither work, try cucumber. just grind it up in a blender or smoosh it up yourself, but yup. NOW, if none of these work, i sugest mixing milk, teatree oil, and cucumber. grind that all up in ur blender (cuz your hands dont really work with that) and apply as a mask. leave that on for about 20-30 mins. so those are my suggestions. good luck with your face problems!!! PS: it could be worse! 😉
i have acne i feel so stupid 🙁 and ugly i dont even want to go close up to anyone cause theyll see my face have you ever had that feeling goin to try all of them and see which 1 really works for me hopes high ;-):-):-D:-);-):-D
If you have a lot of acne, cysts, or nodules, a medicine that you can buy without a prescription may not work. If you want to see clearer skin, you should see a dermatologist. Dermatologists offer the following types of treatment:
Sugar is consumed in astonishing amounts through foods and drinks. Sugar provides no nutrition but plenty of calories. It also can cause inflammation. Dramatically reducing sugar consumption can make a big difference in the frequency and severity of out breaks.
