“Eating chocolate or a lot of junk food doesn’t by itself seem to cause acne, but not having a balanced diet and eating too many refined carbs can cause problems,” says Albert Lefkovits, MD, director of the Park Avenue Center for Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology in New York City. In a 2007 study, Australian researchers found that people who followed a low-glycemic index (GI) diet (which is low in refined carbohydrates like those found in white bread) had a 22% decrease in acne lesions, compared with a control group that ate more high-GI foods. In most cases of cystic acne, you’ll need to see a dermatologist to clear it up. Whether it’s a prescription medication or surgical removal, your dermatologist is your best resource. Acne cysts are so difficult to treat at home. Cystic acne can also lead to significant scarring.

In the evening I mix 1 part castor oil to 3 parts olive oil (approx 1 Tbsp all together). I it into my face for about 2 minutes (it will disolve makeup). I rinse as much off as I can with water then I use the bar soap to wsh the rest off.

Cystic acne is unsightly—but worse than that, it can be painful. And what’s with blemishes cropping up at the most inopportune times?! They always seem to strike right before a major event or big work presentation.
I don’t think it would be the cornstarch, but as you mentioned, you can try the arrowroot powder and see if it improves. Also as you suggested, I would try it without the cinnamon and see if that helps. For trouble spots, I spot with the mineral recipes because it gives more coverage. 🙂

There is a trend that if a parent or older sibling had significant scarring acne, you are more likely to develop it yourself. However, a family history of cystic acne is not universal, even in the most severe cases. Elevations in testosterone, either intrinsic to the body or extrinsic through the intake of anabolic steroids, may precipitate or worsen cystic acne. While most combination contraceptive pills will have a therapeutic benefit in acne, the progesterone-predominant contraceptive types such as progesterone-only mini-pills, progesterone implants, and progesterone-eluting intrauterine devices may worsen acne, although these may serve as effective contraception when isotretinoin use for acne is considered.
Apply essential oils to active pimples. Neem oil and tea tree oil are thought to have antimicrobial properties that can kill acne-causing bacteria. Dab a drop of diluted version of tea tree oil or neem oil on each spot, or wet a cotton swab and wipe it over problem areas. 
Finding out how to cure acne naturally and quickly isn’t all that difficult of a task. The true difficulty is with ACTUALLY getting rid of acne breakouts, as opposed to just talking about how easy it is to do.
Soak 6-7 pieces of raisins or figs in cold water at night and have them first thing in the morning after discarding the water. This should be done every night even if you get rid of acne. This treatment will prevent breakout of cystic acne in future.
Leave on for at least 10 minutes, or overnight. Reapply several times a day, washing face thoroughly after each time. Make sure to use a moisturizer afterwards as well if you feel like your skin is getting dry.
