The conclusion of this study was very promising: “We successfully developed lipid vehicles to deliver curcumin to the skin for P. acnes inhibition. Combined effects of curcumin and lauric acid were found in inhibiting P. acnes. A histological examination confirmed normal skin morphologies after lipid vehicle treatments. In summary, curcumin-loaded vehicles are a promising tool for the topical delivery of curcumin to inhibit the growth of P. acnes.”
so i, like many of you , am in highschool , and when i was in middle school i had the worst acne, now im a cheerleader and cheer in front of thousands of people. I realized the pressure of everyone watching me and that my face HAD to be perfect and tan (which im obssessed with) but thats really hard to do when you spend hours everday working out at cheer, and at home, etc. the sweat is disgusting and clogs your pores. so about 5 months ago i realized that when you go to work out , bring ALOT OF WATER. it flushes out all the toxins, its all i drink now (it helped me lose 6 pounds and i now have perfect abs) also bring a clean towell, when ever your feeling sweaty, PAT it off , do not rub it causes irritation. also when you go home, shower immediately clean your face well, always take off your makeup, do not cake it on, it only clogs your pores. i use bareminerals its great ! it creates flawless skin, has spf in it and does not clog pores. after its all off and you used a facewash, put white toothpaste all over your face, leave it on for 2 hours then rinse off and immediately put a oil free moisterizer on with vitamin e! i use aquaphor and eucerin. in a couple of days you will notice a difference, im now acne free and i love going out without makeup ! it defintly boosts your confidence !:-D 😉
Benzoyl peroxide is the first product many people try, because it’s pretty easy on the skin. Typically, you’ll start with a lower strength no matter what medicine you use. This helps you get used to it. Your doctor can tell you if it’s time to try a higher strength or to switch to something different.
Smoking is an addiction. More than 430,000 deaths occur each year in the U.S. from smoking related illnesses. Secondhand smoke or “passive smoke” also harm family members, coworkers, and others around smokers. There are a number of techniques available to assist people who want to quit smoking.
this sound bad, and i know alot of people will think its crazy, but at night, before you go to bed, rub ice on your face, (preferably ice made in a tray but store bought or fridge made will work too) rub it all over, it will prevent acne and make pre-existing acne less well…acneish
Hey girls and guys:) I’ve had problem skin since my early 20’s. Then I had kids and when they suffered from acne, I was more desperate than ever to find a “cure”. I was lucky enough to get a pushy sales person at The Body Shop. They have a great line of tea tree oil face products! The face wash is a miracle! It cleared up me and my kids! It’s kind of expensive but worth it. Plus, The Body Shop uses a lot of natural ingredients and they participate fair trade:) ..I tend to have a bad reaction to ANYTHING on my face. I’m getting older and I needed to moisturize as well as fight acne (still). The Body Shop has another line of skin products, called Drops of Youth. All of those products are wonderful! They have plant-stem cells in them. They don’t only fight effects of age but also they all help make skin healthier and have less acne. You can order it online and if you don’t like it, return it!
hi, your tips are really great. but i am not so much convinced with using baking soda. it might help initially as is the case with steroid based creams which help treat acne initially, but with repeated use it causes more outbursts that are highly inflammable. baking soda contains chemical that disturbs the natural ph balance of skin, thus making it more prone to bacterial infection. pH scale works like this: 1 is acidic, 14 is alkaline. Things are either more acidic or more alkaline based on where they sit on the scale (unless it is 7, in which case it is neutral). As a reference point, our skin is roughly a pH of 4.5-5, blood is 7, an effective AHA or BHA is 3.5-4, baking soda is a 9, and the average WHITE vinegar (5-10% acetic acid) is 2.40-3.40.
also try sandalwood, rosewater and lemon juice 😀 . and washin ur face with an oil control soap helps. and btw \”HOPELESS\” instead of wasting ur tyme and money on those products just go 2 a gud dermatologist : they are specialised i treatin conditions like urs
If you have acne, chances are pretty good that you also tend to get blackheads — they’re caused by oil and debris that has darkened within clogged pores. To battle them without causing irritation, start by degunking with an exfoliator with 2 percent or less salicylic acid or glycolic and lactic Acids every morning. Let it sit for about a minute on damp skin in order to give the acid time to do its thing, then rinse. We like Ole Henriksen’s Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub. Then extract them. Yes, you can go the DIY route, but only if you follow these instructions. Don’t even think about using your fingers to do it. After you shower, hold a cotton swab on either side of the blackhead, then gently press down. Don’t force anything — if it doesn’t budge, abort mission and apply a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment.
Just go to your MD and have them prescribe you ACNE medication And a topical cream. Ask for minocycline and the topical cream to be Clindamycin they do wonders. Avoid over the counter acne treatments all they do is irritate your face and dry it out! hope this works 😀

Makeup products don’t clog up pores and cause pimples, as acne is caused by sebum production that comes from within the skin. While makeup doesn’t necessarily cause pimples, there are products to avoid and much to be said about washing off cosmetics before working out and prior to going to bed.
If topical treatments are ineffective, doctors may prescribe oral medications for acne. These can help clear up acne breakouts and other skin conditions, but they come with their fair share of potential side effects and consequences.
Lavender essential oil can be applied to acne cysts with a q-tip several times a day. Most people can tolerate lavender essential oil neat (without diluting.) If you find the oil to be too strong, dilute it into some coconut oil or castor oil first.
Incorrect. Diet has nothing to do with acne. Additionally, ice will cause blood vessels to constrict which will reduce swelling, however the chemical products sold in stores are what will actually kill the bacteria and help prevent future breakouts.
When I was a teenager, I had terrible cystic acne. No medications helped me, but eventually I “outgrew” it. Now that I am perimenopausal (age 51) I seem to be getting it again. In desperation, I tried birth control pills. It helped with the acne, but the side effects were miserable. I quit the Pill a month ago. Last week I could feel the beginnings of a deep pimple on my chin (it wasn’t terribly visible yet, but I could certainly feel it). I applied ACV with a cotton swab for two days mornings and evenings. It’s gone! Before, there’d been nothing to do but wait for a deep lesion to surface and evetually go away (a long, painful and unattractive process!) Never has anything worked as well or as quickly as the humble ACV!
Hey guys! I am 13 years old, and have been suffering from moderate acne. I recommend using yogurt to clear it up! That’s right, natural yogurt. All you need to do is mix the yogurt up with a spoon, then apply all over the face with a cotton ball, especially to the areas you get acne the worst. Then leave on for an hour, and wash off! It’s best to do this at night 🙂
I don’t mean to sound like a commercial, but that apple cider vinegar toner changed my skin. After just a couple weeks my skin was softer, my pores were smaller, my scars were faded, my skin tone was the most even it had ever been, and there wasn’t a pimple to be found on my face. Not to mention the fact that my apple cider vinegar toner was natural, organic and made from one ingredient that I already had in my kitchen cupboard. I tossed all those cleansers, creams and pills in the trash and haven’t looked back.
A homemade face wash that contains diluted apple cider vinegar is also effective for clearing up acne. Apple cider vinegar is believed to help restrict bacterial activity on account of its antiseptic properties.
Im 11 and in 6th grade. Ive had acne since i was 5 😮 and now its getting worse. Although Im eating healthy and drinking plenty of water, but it doesnt seem to go away. I also have pretty bad bacne (back acne) and thats really irritating me. But for all of you who have acne and do NOT eat plenty of fruits and veggies than to get clear(er) skin you absolutely MUST do that. Ive tried almost everything apart from those really harsh chemical thinggy’s. Ive tried Clearasil, tea tree oil, lemon juice, muesli, russian birches & even my own PEE!!!!! Of course, most of those things are all natural but some of the stuff Ive put on my face i cant remember so yeah, just eat healthy to keep your skin under control. It may not clear things up completely but it will certainly help you and you preobably wont get many new zits. Thanks for reading!!
Manuka honey comes from New Zealand where the manuka bush is indigenous. So-called “active” manuka honey is widely promoted on the Internet as an acne remedy. The claim is mostly based on studies that suggest it has significant antibacterial and wound-healing properties.
Truth be told, you simply can’t rely on using just one acne cure to do the job — you need to use multiple remedies and various kinds of acne treatments if you wish to have a legitimate chance of clearing away acne and keeping it at bay for the long term.
my mom really worried and she read or listened somewhere that honey and cinnamon powder helps. so she asking me if i want to try it. i don’t want to take any chances cause im scared of my skin will gets worse.
Acne produces symptoms familiar to all of us. Cystic acne is even more visible because it is the most severe form and produces cysts and nodules alongside inflammatory papules and pustules. Acne can also cause visible scarring.
Cystic acne has haunted me most of my life. I got through puberty relatively clear, but at 18, my face started to light up like fireworks on the Fourth of July. My skin was covered with painful, large bumps that would stay for weeks and eventually leave dark scars. I spent eight years trying to cure it with acne medication like over-the-counter products, prescription creams, and two rounds of Accutane. Finally, I gave up trying to fix it—and that’s when everything got better.
Aloe, known for its burn-relieving properties, can promote healing, fight infection, and even reduce scarring. Scrape the gel from an aloe plant out with a spoon, and apply to acne. You can also buy aloe gel from health-food stores—just make sure it’s pure aloe, with no added ingredients.
If the body wash isn’t cutting it, head to your dermatologist for a prescription treatment like BenzEFoam, a peroxide foam that kills inflammation-causing bacteria in just minutes. “It’s formulated so you can get the maximum penetration of benzoyl peroxide quickly and then wash it away, for less risk of irritation,” says Hilary Baldwin, the medical director of the Acne Treatment and Research Center in Morristown, New Jersey.

Wash your face with water and pat dry. Rinse 3 strawberries and mash them up well, taking care that they don’t get over-mashed and runny. Add the strawberries to two teaspoons of honey, and thoroughly blend them together. Apply to your face and let the mixture sit for 20 minutes. Rinse off completely with warm water, pat dry, and moisturize if your skin has a tendency to dry out. Use twice a week for at least a month.
