If you suffer from harsh, inflammatory breakouts, a doctor will likely prescribe topical antibiotics. Some studies have purported that use of these antibiotics has made bacteria more resistant to treatment, and it may be that these treatments are less effective than they were in the past.
1. Acne is caused by dirt/dirty skin– Acne is not caused by dirt, poor hygiene, not washing your face and so on. Too much scrubbing or cleansing with harsh soaps or chemicals can actually irritate your skin and make the acne worse. If you “over clean” you can end up drying out your skin, which will then try and compensate by making that much more oil. A simple cleansing of the skin to get rid of excess oil and dead skin cells is all that is needed.
Oral antibiotics are designed to kill the acne-causing bacteria found within your skin pores. The most common oral antibiotics prescribed for acne treatment are Tetracyclines, which include Minocycline and Doxycycline, and Erthromycin. Like their topical antibiotics counterparts, bacterial resistance may result in ineffectiveness of this treatment regimen so overuse is to be avoided.
Scars (permanent): People who get acne cysts and nodules often see scars when the acne clears. You can prevent these scars. Be sure to see a dermatologist for treatment if you get acne early — between 8 and 12 years old. If someone in your family had acne cysts and nodules, you also should see a dermatologist if you get acne. Treating acne before cysts and nodules appear can prevent scars.

Rub the slices on your skin, particularly any problem areas, making sure the juice of the garlic is applied. Leave on for 15 minutes to 30 minutes.

Hi! I tried doing a routine of oil cleansing, honey cleansing, and apple cider vinegar toner and my skin started breaking out much worse than before, I waited a bit to see if this reaction would go away but eventually resorted to going to a dermatologist and getting prescribed medication. My acne is much better now but I don’t want to take medication anymore. Do you think maybe I just needed to give my routine a longer chance to work (maybe I was detoxing?)? Or maybe these natural remedies just don’t work for me? (I hope that’s not the case!)
