One of the biggest helps – as odd as it sounds – is sleep. Part of what causes acne is stress, and the bodies response to stress. I read a study that suggested roughly a 14% increase in overall acne/breakouts for every hour of sleep missed. I used to have a hard time falling to sleep – I tried various over the counter sleep-aids, plain melatonin etc. I found a tiny company that makes a three-ingredient sleeping pill called Berry Sleepy that works like a charm!
To combat this, dermatologists are turning to new devices. Research studies, some conducted at Wake Forest Baptist, have found that tools such as Web-based surveys, email reminders and encouraging text messages can help increase teenage patients’ proper use of acne medications.

i don’t usually have many pimples on my face, just black heads, but over the past week or so i have been getting so many. i try to pop them but they just seem like a red bump. I wash my face evry single day sometimes twices a day. i really hope that some of these will work! (:
The food you consume is what your body uses to heal and repair itself. You do not need to have a perfect diet, but often times improving your diet and reducing empty calories will go a long way to healing acne and other chronic health problems. Processed foods do not give your body much to work with. Consume processed foods and fast foods less. Use more whole foods. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Variety in your diet will help your body to get the assortment of nutrients that it needs.

[YEA] I am a 43 yr old woman. About ten years ago I started suffering from terrible cystic acne. I am taking testosterone blocker and minocycline. Nothing worked. I also use Duac gel which is an antibiotic and peroxide. Still nothing worked. Tryed thousands of combinations of medications and home remedies. Yesterday I read this blog on apple cider vinegar….thought what the heck. I will try it. I took 2 tablespoons in a glass of water and dabbed some on the exsisting cysts. Then that evening did the same thing only using the cider as a toner.
