okay, people think that i am crazy… but this really works… I had acne for years, and i tried everything! some things would work, but they where just temporary, the acne always came back. Then i started to clean my face with hand sanitizer. It seemed to make sense, because hand sanitizer gets rid of bacteria, and really thats what acne is. but i would use it on my entire face once at night time after washing off my make-up, then once in the morning before putting it on. just apply lightly on entire face, and let dry.it helps oily skin too! good luck!

Here is a good chart on the glycemic index of foods. An example of a high glycemic food is white rice “89” on the chart and an example of a low glycemic food is an apple “39”. Some of the best low-carb fruits include, berries, cherries, apples, pears and grapefruits. This is why one important change you can make is to make sure you keep your blood sugar steady. If your blood sugar is going wildly up and down you cause your insulin production to go in to overdrive . If you keep blood sugar balanced less “pimple producing insulin” will be in your blood and it was found in recent studies that there were less sex hormones in the blood of participants that ate foods with a low-glycemic load.
I’m 28 and had severe acne since I was 12, nothing I used ever did much good for too long (including proactive…grr). My face cleared up drastically after I removed all “junk” food from my diet, especially anything that contained MSG, and now I’m just dealing with a few little scars. I started drinking 30oz+ of water every day, cut out most of my coffee and added green tea. I wash my face with Bert’s Bees chamomile face wash, and use peroxide as a toner (2X/day). I used neosporin on the spots that have drained and spot remedy on those that hadn’t. I wear minimal makeup, and wash it off as soon as I’m home. 1. Baking Soda– This is my absolute favorite natural remedy for acne! Surprisingly, I only discovered baking soda masks a couple of years ago, and oh boy, is this stuff powerful at clearing skin! Baking soda not only helps eliminate breakouts and reduces inflammation, it is also an exfoliator and helps remove dead skin cells! Because of this, it also works great to reduce any old scars or acne marks. To use it, just take a few teaspoons of baking soda and mix it with warm water until it forms a paste. Apply the paste to your skin. You may want to leave it on for only 10 to 15 minutes the first few times as it may feel powerful. You can gradually increase the time up to an hour or even leave it on overnight (which is what I do). After one use you can see a great difference in your skin.

Warning!! Beware of method 1 – Apple Cider Vinegar! I diluted 1:3 and used on my pimples and in a few minutes my face started burning and went bright red. I quickly washed it off in a panic and applied aloe vera plant to my face. ACV is a very strong acid and will BURN your face! Please avoid this method for your skins safety.
so my honest advice would be to not use baking soda for skin care. just a genuine concern as most people with acne problems wish to try everything they could get their hands on, but be very careful and do your research well before trying anything on your skin.

For me, my acne began to clear up quite a bit just after the first few applications of baking soda. It also helped the appearance of my scars because it also acts as an exfoliator. Sorry to hear it became worse, this is the first I have heard of this. Hope you can find another natural solution.

Hi, I’m 16 and i have been trying to eat healthily and i have been taking care of my facial hygiene for a few months now and i definitely see results. I have been on a no sugar diet, completely avoided all oily foods, cut out most dairy, all white flour, and all processed foods. I wash my face twice a day (with all natural facial cleanser) and apply cleansing face packs every night (usually turmeric based). But I still get that one annoyingly large pimple once in a while. They take a long time to go away, is there anything else i can do to prevent this cystic acne. Also among the list above which work the best, i don’t have especially sensitive skin.
Method: Put all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Reach a paste consistency. Apply the paste on the affected area. Leave the paste on for half an hour. Rinse off with cold water. Pat dry your skin. To get rid of back acne, use this paste twice a week.

My breakouts weren’t just blackheads and whiteheads—they were deep, red nodules covering my face, concentrated especially around my cheeks and jawline. Try a light treatment. Unlike painful laser treatments, light treatments use milder pulses of light fired off by a specialized wand to help kill bacteria. Certain colors of light (including red, green, and blue) have shown to have a positive effect on killing acne. Ask your dermatologist if getting a light treatment is a good choice for you.
OMG that sounds sucky. Thanks for the warning, I was gonna use that to get ready for Christmas Eve. Also, for any who want to know my usurer has a sugar scrub with mint syrups and I thought it was just scented so I used it. Worked wonders for my skin!!
You should try the yogurt mask and the ingredients are: 2 of oat meal, 3 tablespoons of bio yogurt, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of water, mix them together and apply to the face, Leave it for 15-20 mins and be sure to put a thick layer on the pimples.
